Basic study of a noninvasive method of intravascular pressure estimation for chronic leg venous insufficiency

      Chronic leg venous insufficiency is a condition in which the veins of the legs are damaged, or the malfunction of the venous valves results in impaired blood flow.

      The standard classification method for chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities is the Clinical Etiologic Anatomic Pathophysiologic (CEAP) classification.

      However, the interpretation of these diagnostic methods depends on the experience levels of the medical experts. Invasive venous pressure measurement methods include venography and intravascular ultrasound devices.

      These measurement methods burden the medical professional and the patient heavily. Therefore, a simple and noninvasive method of venous pressure measurement is required for the early detection and treatment of chronic leg venous insufficiency.
