The demand for lip augmentation continuously increases. Aesthetic injections of the
biodegradable filler poly-L-lactic acid (PLA) into lip tissue have been used with
good results, but do not always meet patients' expectations. A possible side effect
is the development of foreign body granulomas. We present a case which illustrates
the pitfalls of PLA injections.
